I am hoping to get some help determing the proper way to insert ALTERNATE or waiting list players into a NL multi-table tournament. I run an amateur league that consistantly gets between 5 & 8 tables per night. Often, we have altenate players. This occurs when we start with for example 6 full tables, then 2 more people show up. I insert the new players when there is an elimination. There does not seem to be a full rule as to how to insert the players in any of the rules that I apply to my tournaments. That is Rob’s rules V 11 and current TDA rules. Here is the question and situation. A full tournament has an elimination. The player ELIMINATED had just paid the Big Blind. The puck moves forward, now the empty seat is directly to the left of the button. I seat the player in the available seat. What position does he take? What I have been doing is giving that player the Big Blind. Since the player to his/her immediate left has NOT paid a blind yet. Because it is a full table, I instruct the button to DEAL TWICE, giving the new player Big Blind, then Sm Blind. The blinds are preserved. No one skips a blind.

Some people believe that the new player should take over the Sm Blind immediately. I believe that ONLY players going from a BROKEN table can take over the sm blind, or button. Alternate players I treat as players moved to BALANCE. Can anyone point me towards definative information on inserting a NEW or ALTERNATE player? My goal is to get the inserted player involved in hands sooner, rather than later. This is a social league.

The turn card has just been dealt, and Player A pushes all in and is called by player B. Player B shows an ace high flush and Player A throws his cards over the line face down. River gives Player A a full houses. Should player A hand be mucked. Should the hand have been turned face up by the dealer? And should the river have been dealt if he folded? As when a player declares all in and is called, cards must be turned face up, is it the dealers responsibilty to turn the cards face up, or do they fold a hand that has been thrown in face down? I will add that there was an inexperienced dealer on the table, and they dealt the river while player A hand remained face down in the centre of the table

I run a No limit hold`em home league and had this situation come up and could not find a definitive answer on the internet. Blinds were $200/$400 and UTG player says `Bet` and throws in a $1000 chip. Another player questioned if it was a call of $400 using the one chip rule or a raise to $1000? What is the player bound to when he verbally declares `bet` in that situation? It seems bet is very ambiguous when action is already on the table behind the player. Thanks, Bob.

3 people in on a hand, player A is all in, the river is shown, player B shows Player C her cards and then throws her cards face down saying `Damn, I missed my flush, Player C Checks, as the other player shows her cards, it is realized that Player B actually had the winning hand, as her cards did not touch any other cards in the `Muck`, she pulls her cards back to claim the pot?
Was this right? Is this allowed, as she certainly did not say fold, her actions did show as a fold.

As we don`t actually have dealers, Player B split the pot with Player C who had the next best hand.

a) he pulls his hand back and leaves enough to make the call

b) he pulls his hand back and leaves enough chips on the table for a raise, but still has some of the stack in his hand.

At which point is either of these a call or a raise if he makes no verbal statement?
